Bo Bice. America’s Best Hope
O.k., that’s a huge overstatement. But there is something very reassuring about American Idol contestant Bo Bice. If you’re not familiar with the show, Bice is the only bit of gold in a field of pyrite. Somehow, someway, this long-haired honest-to-god rocker has broken through Idol’s intensely fabricated reality and become a star.
Why does this matter? Because, in this culture of manufactured personalities and faux image, it’s nice to see someone so effortlessly authentic become so popular. Maybe we’re reading too much into this, but maybe this is just one more sign that the country is getting just a little bit tired of the phoniness that permeates everything from our music to our politics.
Or maybe Bo’s just one of those stars that can transcend trends. Either way, this admitted Idol-addict will keep voting for him.

Go Bo! Just goes to show you the South has the best talent when you look at the final 4 ini each year.

I fully agree, Bo should win. He is totaly different than anybody else and I love his voice and down to earth personality. Stories about his drug rehab make me even more believe that he is a strong person because he was able to beat his addicton. BTW this is a singing not a moral competition.

As a mother of 6 (5 boys, 1 girl) and grandmother of 9 (almost 10), I am not too old to appreciate this young talent. The uniqueness, unadulterated and true talent of Bo Bice gets my vote every week.
I am a mom and a wife of 13 years. I love Bo. His voice takes you to that place that just makes everything right with the world.
I'm an older Bo fan. I think that he has singlehandedly turned this pop music competition into sheer electricity this year with his gritty rock and roll style and great personality. He is different than any previous winner, I so hope he wins this thing. He's a down to earth person, who otherwise, would be playing small gigs in bars in the South...what a shame that would be. He's better than that, he's proven it.

Bo Bice IS a star!!!! If he doesn't win, then nobody was listening. His voice is simply the best thing going!
I am watching this competition every week just because BO, his voice is really something ....
i think bo is absolutely beautiful,,and he reminds me of the dead singer of blind melon,i canr remember his name but i do hope that he wins because i am also getting sick of little brats making it big,,its time for an adult,,who has busted his hump of to get there for toooo long!!!
