Iran announces intentions to pursue nuclear technology

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi told a UN Conference on the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty that Iran is determined to pursue all legal areas of nuclear technology, the AP reports. Kharrazi said the government was “eager” to provide guarantees that its nuclear program will serve only peaceful purposes.

The international community must work first to ensure that Iran does not go down this path. To do this, we should support efforts to provide Iran with alternative energy solutions.
