Brave Action by the UN

The AP reports on another brave and timely move by the United Nations:

The U.N. General Assembly approved a global treaty Wednesday aimed at preventing nuclear terrorism by making it a crime for would-be terrorists to possess or threaten to use nuclear weapons or radioactive material.
.

That’ll stop those terrorists! There’s really nothing quite as effective as an almost unenforceable International law that might not even be ratified by the states most responsible for harboring terrorists.

You have to read the article to get a full flavor of how bizarrely proud the UN is of this achievement. It shows how rare it is these days to get the international community to agree on anything—even something as blindingly obvious as the need to discourage nuclear terrorism.
