Uzbekistan and Our Commitment to Freedom

Freedom for all people should mean freedom for all people. But apparently the Pentagon is more concerned about an airbase than about uncovering what happened in last month's apparent massacre of protesters in Andijan, Uzbekistan.

Charging RINO has the full story.

International relations are never cut-and-dry, but there's little doubt that Uzbekistan has a terrible human rights record. Does the Pentagon want us to hold our allies to a much weaker standard than our adversaries?

President Bush should overturn the Pentagon's blocking of an investigation into the Andijan massacre or at least explain why such an investigation would not be in the interest of our declared mission to advance freedom.
