Arab Muslims Denounce Zarqawi

Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has long preached a false, hate-filled version of Islam. Now, even those sympathetic to the tactics of terrorists are denouncing Zarqawi. This comes after Zarqawi released a statement justifying the killing of innocent civilians in Iraq. It seems that even other terrorists are finding Zarqawi to be too extreme.

As Zarqawi and his followers step up attacks in an effort to derail the drafting of an Iraqi constitution, we can only hope that the terrorists’ increasing bloodlust will convince most Sunnis that they are better off supporting the new Iraqi government than are supporting Zarqawi.
