The Call for an Independent in 2008

Have American's gotten tired enough of the two-party system to elect an Independent in 2008? John Avlon think so and explains why it could happen in today's New York Sun.

Read the whole article as it shows how Independent registration is on the rise and party affiliation is on the decline. In fact, 85% of Americans think we need candidates that vote more independently. I would agree. It'll be interesting to see if someone can fill that need in 2008.

I don't think this is true. Besides that it's too small to elect anyone, many Perot voters were conservatives unimpressed with Bush and awed by Perot's business experience
